Why are your prices so low?

We use a modular system to design our sites, each page being built from a number of building blocks, allowing us to construct your site quickly and efficiently.  The reduced development time allows us to pass our savings on to you. This does not mean that all our sites look the same - layouts and styling are vastly customisable!

Do your prices include VAT?

We are not VAT registered so the prices shown are what you pay.

How long will my website take to make?

After receiving your order, draft text and images, a basic site of up to five pages should take no more than a couple of weeks to be finished.  If you require extra design work or, for example, have a large shop to be set up then the development time will obviously be longer.  We will give you an estimate when you place your order.

What information do you need before you start?

Before we start a website for you we will require the following:

1. Draft text for each page of your site
2. A copy of your company logo (if applicable)
3. Any photos you would like including in your website
4. A list of any other websites you like the look and feel of so we can see what kind of design you are looking for

What format do you require text and images to be in?

Images and artwork that you supply can be in the following formats:

• standard image formats including jpg, gif, png, tif and bmp
• Adobe Photoshop psd
• Adobe Illustrator ai
• Adobe Acrobat pdf

Image files should be supplied in as high a resolution as you have available; we will re-size and optimize them for web use.

Text can be supplied in the following formats:

• Microsoft Word doc or docx
• Microsoft Publisher pub
• Adobe Acrobat pdf
• Simple txt, rtf files or just an email!

What if I can't supply an electronic copy of my logo?

We can scan simple logo designs from a letterhead if necessary and recreate them using graphics software.  However, this will incur a processing fee.

What if I need to make changes to my site in the future?

Once you have paid for your website in full you will be provided with access to the site so that you can make changes should you wish to.  If you would like us to edit any pages this can be done at our standard data entry rate.

If you have purchased a Content Management System (CMS) you can make changes and add pages at any time via the CMS administration interface.

Can I have any Domain Name?

You can have any domain name you wish, as long as it is available. All our packages come with a free .co.uk domain name.

Can I have more than one Domain Name?

You can have as many as you like.  You may want to register yourname.co.uk and yourname.com to help protect your business name online.

Who owns my Domain Name?

We register all domains in your own name or in the name of your business. You will always own your own domain name.

What is hosting?

Hosting is storage of your website on a computer that is accessible to anyone via a web browser.

Out hosting provider offers a 99.9% up-time guarantee meaning your site will pretty much always be available to your customers.

What is Search Engine Optimization?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is both a science and an art and is the process of improving the volume of traffic to a website from search engines by improving both internal and external aspects of the site.  In very simple terms it involves the usage and placing of key words and phrases around the site that relate to your business.  Improving a site's position in search engine results is not an overnight process and there are many factors which affect it, some of which are known only to the search engines themselves! It can take several months for any website to start appearing near the top of the search results. Therefore, we can’t make any guarantees related to search engines except that we will always do our best to give your site a fighting chance against the competition.
